Solving the Problem

The Solution:

My view is being able to provide a local marketing/sales service to local gyms. These gyms are small businesses (usually LLC) that are trying to grow and expand but either don’t know how or don’t have the time and staff to help. My idea is basically providing sales training at a lower cost but that is just a small part of the business plan.
I would take care of all the marketing for that business. Through google, Facebook, Instagram, etc. I would be in charge of providing videos and content and then a lead generator. Once those leads are generated then they would meet with me at the gym they were following and I would also act as the salesman for that gym. Essentially I would be replacing a gyms sales force who does not know how to properly get the job done, or would become the sales force for those businesses that don’t have the staff or the time to do it themselves. The benefit of being local is that I would be able to meet with these gym owners face to face and show them the service we would provide and also teach their staff how to do it. Also because I am taking on all of the marketing and sales these gym owners will have so much more time to focus on their gyms and the value they are providing for their new clients.

  1. Hello Lucas,

Instead of just advertising for the small gym, how about starting a networking system for small gym owners. Most small gym goers are the diehard workout customers. They want to be able to workout wherever they travel or move. What about going around to multiple small gyms, whether in the same city and in different cities and offer them to connect their members with other small gyms. So, when their members travel for work, go on vacation or move to a new location they would be able to workout in a local small gym. This could be a benefit service or additional fee service, which would make the smaller gyms more attractable. This could be a service that would pay after the small gym is maxed out and advertising is no longer needed. Even think about the person who had to work late and could not make it across town and get a full workout in before their gym before closes. This person could workout at the small gym across the street from his work.

    1. Tony, that is a great idea. I definitely have to think about how we would make that work seems very complicated but I can def. see some of the benefits it would provide. thanks for input

  2. Hello Lucas,

When marketing for these small gyms, will there be a goal that you try to meet within a current period. For example, I can guarantee an 15% increase in sales within six months. Providing a goal such as that will be a go for these small gyms that want to grow. I also do know that you will be starting this business but providing them with some form of credibility will also help in the pitching process.

    1. Yes definitely, I am trying to figure out a way where they aren't spending much on marketing and really only paying once I bring in new customers but I don't have that down yet. thanks for the input. credibility will be huge I need to figure that part out.

  3. Lukas,

I feel like this service would be high in demand for gyms. I know my boss, who is a tennis director, is always looking for someone like this so that she can focus more on the tennis side. Seeing her always stressed out, I believe this opportunity would be good for her. I am also with Winsov when he asks you how much of an increase in sales would you pitch to these gym owners? Also, would it just be for gyms or would you take contract offers from someone like my boss?

    1. James,
I hadn't thought of that but that sounds great actually. she might be the ideal customer haha I think the increase also depends on her, what her ideal number of clients would be, but I am working on positioning it so it can be a win win for someone like her. thanks for ideas. where do you work? if you don't mind me asking.

  4. Hello Lucas,

This is something that I really believe could workout especially because I feel as though many of the people that open these small, local gyms are passionate about working out but often don't know much about managing and marketing for a their small business. It would be very convenient to have someone that could manage that part of the business allowing them to focus on the workout techniques and the other parts of the business that they actually care to deal with.

    1. I agree Roberto, most of these people are very passionate about what they do but don't have time to spend on growing because they want to provide as much value as possible. thanks for comment.

  5. Hey Lucas,

I think is opportunity shows a lot of potential because lots of small businesses need someone to come in and push them in the right direction marketing wise. Maybe instead of taking over their whole sales team you could try to run an advising/consultant program. You could go to small businesses and share your expertise then move on to the next.

    Thanks,
    Michelle
